The British railroaded Indian heritage, denied British rights to Indian citizens no matter how proficient they were, used them as soldiers in wars they weren’t involved in (much like France used Africans from colonies), and eventually massive food shortage proved Britain was not taking care of India, but simply using them for resources and manpower
