You can use substitution
Plug in -3x - 7 for y in second equation
x + 2(-3x - 7) = 11
x - 6x - 14 = 11
-5x = 25, x = -5
Plug plug -5 for x in first equation
Y = -3(-5) - 7
Y = 15-7, y = 8
