Hello!

Change to a common denominator: 45

5/9 = 25/45

- 4/5 = - 36/45

[tex] \frac{25}{45} +( -\frac{36}{45} ) = \frac{25}{45} - \frac{36}{45} = -\frac{11}{45} [/tex]

Positive and Negative = Negative

Your answer is the last choice ⇒ [tex] -\frac{11}{45} [/tex]

Hello!

This equation could also be written as seen below.

5/9-4/5

Now we find common denominators.

25/45-36/45=-11/45

Therefore, our answer is D) -11/45.

I hope this helps!
