When more than one force is acting on an object, the net force determines the motion of the object.

The net force of an object is expressed as a value, such as net force = 5, and the motion of the object will change depending on how high or low that value is. For instance, if the net force is 0, the object won't move unless it is already moving, but if it is larger than 0, its motion will change.
