Let the two numbers be x and y
xy = 30 . . . . . (1)
x + y = -4 . . . . .(2)
From (2), x = -4 - y . . . . . (3)
Putting (3) into (1), we have:
(-4 - y)y = 30
-4y - y^2 = 30
y^2 + 4y + 30 = 0
y = -2 + i√26 and x = -2 - i√26
