What does classical theory say about the planetary model of the atom?

It says it cannot be correct. The main reasons are that:

1. Electrons going in circles constitutes accelerating charges that should give off radiation (energy) which would then cause the electron to spiral into the nucleus.

2. The electrons are attracted to the protons in the nucleus so they should crash into it.

3. All of the protons are packed into the center of the atom even though they repel one another.

4. The discrete spectra of atoms cannot be accounted for with a classical theory.
