Chapter 18 in Their Eyes Were Watching God uses a substantial amount of imagery throughout the whole chapter. The fire-dances and the beginnings of the hurricane are all described with vivid detail. There is also a lot of personification used in this chapter. The animals and the wind are all described as doing humanlike things or having humanlike qualities as the hurricane gets closer.
